THE creation of a new role at Westleigh Developments is further evidence of the company's expanding business interests and marks new territory for both Westleigh and its recently-appointed New Homes Manager. Robert Orr has taken on the freshly-created position, having amassed 20 years' service in the estate agency sector. He brings with him a wealth of experience in assessing the needs and wants of homebuyers which he says will be valuable tools for helping to determine housing types and prices on future Westleigh projects. “This role marks a complete change for me, and will enable me to use the skills I've gained to a different advantage,” said Robert, aged 40. “My responsibilities will include providing a pricing opinion of proposed house types on potential sites, as well as commenting on most suitable house types and specification. It's a new challenge that I'm really looking forward to.” Robert, who lives in Lutterworth with his wife and three children, began his career as a branch valuer with Spencers estate agents' Blaby office in 1986, just down the road from Westleigh's headquarters in Whetstone. He stayed with Spencers for 13 years, in turn holding Branch Manager's positions at Syston, Lutterworth, Broughton Astley and Hinckley, and subsequently worked for Countrywide's Land and New Homes department. Following the 2005 takeover of Bradford and Bingley Estate Agents (B&B), he had overseen the existing Countrywide business along with the newly acquired Land and New Homes business of B&B. In his new Westleigh role, Robert will also have on-site responsibilities including organising sales office staffing, appointing estate agents, and liaison with house designers.
