Andrew Robathan, MP for Blaby Constituancy, has praised a new business park built by Westleigh Developments at St John's, Lutterworth, and said the development will be 'an asset' to the area. Mr Robathan was on Friday given a guided tour of the business park, which will be officially unveiled next month, by Westleigh's Managing Director Chris Beighton, Property Manager Matthew Moore, and Ian McCrae of Chadwick McCrae, the property agent acting on behalf of Westleigh. During the tour, he was shown inside the office units, which range from 1,500 to 8,000 sq ft and have been built in response to demand from small and medium-sized buildings. The 11 units in the first building phase have all been sold and many of those in the second phase were sold before they had even been built. While surprised to hear of the lack of suitable office development land in the area, Mr Robathan was less surprised to hear how St John's and the Lutterworth area generally are now proving an attraction to city-based businesses. “Lutterworth is a very good alternative to Fosse Park, the Meridian and other areas of Leicester. It is also cleaner than Leicester and easily accessible,” he said. Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries' new Pathfinder Pub Restaurant, The Elms, and a Travel Lodge hotel have also been built on the site by Westleigh. Mr Rowbathan spoke to staff at The Elms and was impressed by the full range of traditional British fare that appeared on the menu. He said there was a good chance he would be trying it out for himself once it officially opened on October 17th! He also said the 41-room Travelodge would be a welcome addition to the area. “There is a shortage of such facilities in this area and I'm sure it will be well used,” he said.
