CHANGING industry trends and employment growth have provided a need for tailor-made offices in Coalville and the surrounding area, and a Leicestershire developer has stepped into the breach to fulfill this need. North West Leicestershire District Council has praised the new office accommodation Westleigh has created at Phoenix Park, Coalville, saying it has helped the town to move forward, away from its ex-coal-mining image, and to further employment prospects. "This new development has provided a new image for Coalville, as a commercial centre, and helped it to more away from its former mining links," said Heather Bell, Economic Development Officer for North West Leics DC. "Coalville is gradually moving away from these characterstics - in the recently-published Barclays affluence league tables, NW Leics came 21st out of all local authorities in the country in terms of employment growth. "A few years ago, if we had said we were going to put offices in Coalville, people probably would have been extremely cynical, but in the past few years, we've seen a real change of industry focus. The Westleigh development has filled a need. We at the council are very pleased with the development and, if the demand and funding are there, would like to see more, similar developments in the area." All units at the new office park, close to the town's Stephenson Industrial Estate, have been sold to a range of businesses moving into the area. The buildings cover a total floor area of 25,000 sq. ft of offices and the units start from 1,500 sq ft. Matthew Moore, Development Manager, Westleigh Developments, said: "The development has brought a lot of new business to Coalville, as well as new employment prospects. The site is in a prominent position fronting the A511 and benefits from the town's excellent transport links, with the M42 and M1 both under 10 minutes' drive away, so it's ideal for small and medium-sized businesses. We have all been extremely pleased with the success of Phoenix Park and the feedback from all of our purchases has been extremely positive." All offices at the new development offer businesses high quality accommodation, with a full range of must-have specifications for the modern business, including optional air conditioning, first-class insulation, double glazed windows and doors, special lighting to reduce the glare on computer screens and ample car parking for employees and visitors. |
